Upload however it suits you
You do not have to scan anything when you are out and about. A phone photo of the receipt is enough.

Five formats are processed: PDF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF and BMP. That covers practically every receipt – whether it comes from your camera, your scanner or straight from the supplier.
The AI reads the receipt
Effizo reads the whole receipt and uses it to pre-fill the fields a journal entry actually needs:
- Income or expense
- Invoice date and amount
- Booking text – with supplier and invoice number
- Category
- VAT lines – for VAT-registered businesses, derived from the receipt, not guessed
The result is a journal entry proposal. Next to each field you see what Effizo recognised: you take over single values or all of them at once and change whatever does not fit – the VAT rates included.
The receipt stays with the entry
An uploaded receipt does not vanish into a folder, it stays linked to its journal entry. That makes it the proof behind the booking, not just a file somewhere.
This pays off twice: when a question comes up mid-year and you want to know what sits behind a figure – and at year-end, when you hand your accountant every receipt collected as a ZIP instead of hunting them down. The ten-year retention obligation is met with no extra work.
